


{"id":3220,"date":"2021-06-03T17:32:21","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T08:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/?page_id=3220"},"modified":"2021-12-27T14:52:49","modified_gmt":"2021-12-27T05:52:49","slug":"ees-news","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/service\/software-license\/ees\/ees-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) &#8211; Notice"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>\nAbout upgrading to Windows 11 (Follow-up 2021\/12\/27)\n<\/li>\n<p>\n[Target person of this notice]<br \/>\nA) Persons who have upgraded to Windows 10 with a Microsoft license provided by the university.<br \/>\n(B) Persons who are trying to upgrade to Windows 11 with the Microsoft license provided by the university.<br \/>\n* This upgrade is a change from Windows 10 or earlier to Windows 11 provided by the Academic Computing &#038; Communications Center.<br \/>\nThose who do not plan to upgrade are not eligible.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Windows 11, released on October 5, 2021, is expected to be available in late January 2022 as a Windows OS upgrade under the University&#8217;s Comprehensive Agreement for Education (EES).<br \/>\nWe will inform you again on this page when it becomes available, so please wait for a while for Windows OS upgrade support.<\/p>\n<p>Free upgrades be distributed from Microsoft\u2019s website etc., but please refrain from doing so until the university verification is completed.<br \/>\nIf you are using the anti-virus software distributed by the Academic Computing &#038; Communications Center, please check if it is compatible with Windows 11 before upgrading.<br \/>\nPlease note that Organization for Information Infrastructure will not be able to handle any problems caused by upgrading the Windows OS independently before the notification of the end of verification.\n<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nOn termination of support for Office 2016 for Mac\n<\/li>\n<p>\nSecurity support for the software will be terminated in Oct.13, 2020. If you are using it, please upgrade to Office 2019 for Mac.<br \/>\nThe latest version on Office 2019 for Mac is available. You can install it from Software Distribution Management System.<br \/>\nOr you can install it from App Store if you are using a Mac.<br \/>\nIn this case, use it by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/service\/software-license\/ees\/tokuten\/\">privileges of the EES<\/a> (sign up and use).\n<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nOffice 2010 Professional Plus is no longer provided\n<\/li>\n<p>\nThe support by the developer of Office 2010 Professional Plus will end in October 2020.<br \/>\nDownloads is no longer provided on this site.<br \/>\nPlease use Office 2016 Professional Plus or later ones (Especially you are using it for security reasons)\n<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nExecution of updates such as Office 2016 installed by EES\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nIf you are using Office Proplus 2016 (including Office 2013 and Office 2010) installed from Software Distribution Management System (Download Station) on EES contract on Windows 10, it would be applied only when you enable the setting following the steps below.<br \/>\n\u203bIn Office Proplus 2019, you can apply updates within Office applications without having to enable the following settings.<br \/>\nSetting steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the Windows icon (window icon at the bottom left of the screen).\n<li>Select &#8220;Settings&#8221; (screw icon).\n<li>Select &#8220;Update and Security&#8221;.\n<li>Select &#8220;Advanced Options&#8221; of Windows Update.\n<li>Turn on &#8220;Get updates for other Microsoft products when updating Windows&#8221;.\n<li>Return to the Windows Update screen and execute \u201cCheck for updates\u201d.\n<li>After the update program has been applied, click &#8220;Display update histories&#8221;. You can check if Office related updates have been applied.\n    <\/ol>\n<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nWindows 7 is no longer supported\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nWindows 7 is no longer supported with security update hence is not provided now at this site.\n  <\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nOn updating to Windows 10\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nPlease read the following document carefully before you update to Windows 10.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/wp-content\/uploads\/windows10_upgrade_manual_en.pdf\">About Windows 10 Upgrade<\/a><br \/>\n\u203bPlease be aware of that the previous way (if you ever knew) does not work now, for the using method has changed.\n  <\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nOffice 2019 has started to be offered\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nOffice 2019 has started to be offered (Office 2019 for mac has also started to be offered).<br \/>\nPlease read the following instructions carefully before you install Office 2019.<\/p>\n<p>(General instruction for installing Office 2019 Windows version) <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Office 2019 works only on Windows 10 operating system\n<\/li>\n<li>Restart your PC after installing Office 2019 program. (Otherwise Office 2019 will not be activated.)<br \/>\n\u3000Note: While installing Office 2019, your machine must be connected to campus network.<br \/>\n\u3000(For the activation, system requires to connect to MS site through campus network to authenticate KMS license. Please refer to the following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/service\/software-license\/ees\/ees-license\/\">website<\/a> regarding the details of KMS authentication)\n<\/li>\n<li>Uninstall old version of Office program before you install Office 2019.<br \/>\n\u3000(If you do not uninstall old version, Office 2019 will not work properly)<br \/>\n\u3000Please uninstall old version of Office on your own responsibility\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(General instruction for installing Office for Mac 2019)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Office 2019 for Mac works on the latest version macOS and up to two previous versions.\n<\/li>\n<li> Uninstall old version of Office application before you install Office 2019 for Mac.\n<ul>\n<li>Delete Office application Icon from Finder application list.<\/li>\n<li>Move \u300cExcel\u300d\u300cWord\u300d\u300cPowerPoint\u300d\u300coutlook\u300d\u300cOneNote\u300d and \u300cOneDrive\u300d Icons into Trash Box.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you have Office application in the Dock holder, delete those Icons.<br \/>\nPlease uninstall old version of Office on your own responsibility\n<\/li>\n<li>Apply both \u201cInstaller\u201d and \u201cSerializer\u201d when you install Office 2019 for Mac.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The difference between Office 2019, Office 2016 and Office 365 are listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/wp-content\/uploads\/office2016-offce2019-offce365_en_190521.pdf\">comparison table<\/a>.\n  <\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nOffice for Mac 2011 is no longer supported\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nOffice for Mac 2011 is no longer supported with security update hence is not provided now at this site. We strongly recommend you to (switch to) use the Office for Mac 2016 or later ones.\n  <\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nFor using Skype for Business\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nThough the MS Office provided here contains Skype for Business,\u3000a server setup by the user is required before it&#8217;s ready to use. Instead of the above MS Office, you can start <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/service\/software-license\/ees\/skype-for-business\/\">Skype for Business<\/a> by installing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/service\/software-license\/ees\/tokuten\/\">Office365<\/a>.\n  <\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nOn installing Office 2016 for Mac\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nTo install Office 2016 for Mac, both the \u201dinstaller\u201d and the \u201dserializer\u201d are necessary.<br \/>\nFor those using earlier office 2016 for Mac and it didn&#8217;t work (failed to activate, etc.), please uninstall it and download the current one from the Download Station here.<br \/>\n\u203bTo uninstall, please move the Office applications\u300cExcel\u300d\u300cWord\u300d\u300cPowerPoint\u300d\u300coutlook\u300d\u300cOneNote\u300dand \u300cOneDrive\u300dto the Trash Box. Please ignore it if you receive it.\n<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\nNotice of the Web Browser of Microsoft &#8211; Internet Explorer (IE) (updated Mar. 9, 2016)\n  <\/li>\n<p>\nThe older versions (older than version 11) of Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) reached the end of support as of January 13, 2016 (Japan time).<br \/>\nAnd the security patches provided on the day were the last ones.<br \/>\nCheck your version of IE, and if you are running an older version, we recommend you should upgrade it to IE 11, the latest version, as quickly as possible.<br \/>\nSince they no longer receive new security patches, they are vulnerable to security threats such as computer viruses.
