During setup, you will generally need to sign in with a Microsoft account(hereinafter called \u201cMS account\u201d) in order to complete the initial setup.<\/p>\n<h6>Note 2<\/h6>\n<p>In general, the university\u2019s MS account (@u or @un) cannot be used to sign in during this setup process. You will need to sign in with a personal MS account instead.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you already have a personal MS account, you can use it to sign in.<\/li>\n<li>If you do not have one, you can create a new account.<br \/>\n\u203bA personal MS account can be created using an email address such as @outlook.jp or Gmail.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: red; font-weight: bold;\">(To avoid confusion, please do not use your @u email address when creating a Microsoft account.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"aftersetup\">Notes After Setup<\/h2>\n<p>If you use a personal MS account, rather than the university\u2019s MS account, to complete the initial setup during Windows setup, you may find that you are already signed in with that account when you later use Office or Teams.<br \/>\nIn this case, you will need to sign in again with the university\u2019s Microsoft account (@u or @un) in order to use these services with that account.<br \/>\n\u203bIf you want to use Microsoft 365 services such as Office and Teams with the university\u2019s MS account rather than with a personal MS account, please refer to the instructions below.<\/p>\n<h6>How to Switch the Account You Are Signed In With<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>In Office apps (such as Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps)<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: red; font-weight: bold;\">(Not the \u201cMicrosoft 365 (Office)\u201d app.)<\/span><br \/>\nIf you are signed in with a personal MS account when you open Word or another Office app, please sign out first. You can sign out from the sign-in area near the upper-right corner of the Word app or other Office apps, where your name is displayed.<\/li>\n<li>In the Teams app<br \/>\nIf you open the Teams desktop app and an error message appears instead of the sign-in screen, try selecting \u201cRestart the app\u201d or \u201cSign out\u201d from the error message area.<br \/>\nIf the sign-in screen appears but you are signed in with a personal MS account, try signing in from \u201cSign in with another MS account.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>In Edge (web browser) and the Microsoft 365 (Office) app<br \/>\nOn the screen that says, \u201cWelcome to&#8230;\u201d, click the account manager icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, shown as a person-shaped icon, and check which account you are currently signed in with. If you are signed in with a personal MS account, try selecting \u201cSign out\u201d or \u201cSign in with another account\u201d first. Alternatively, access <a href=\"https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com\/\">https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com\/<\/a> and try signing out or switching accounts in the same way.<br \/>\nIf you still cannot sign in properly, try signing in with another web browser.<br \/>\n(For Windows: If you are using Edge, try using Google Chrome or Firefox.)<br \/>\n(For Mac: If you are using Safari, try using Google Chrome or Firefox.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please refer to the following information for important notes on setting up Windows on a newly purchased Windows 11 (Home\/Pro) PC and using Office, Teams, and other services after setup.
