{"id":816,"date":"2016-03-29T15:26:27","date_gmt":"2016-03-29T06:26:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/?page_id=816"},"modified":"2023-01-12T14:04:29","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T05:04:29","slug":"endpoint_downloads","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cc.tsukuba.ac.jp\/wp_e\/endpoint_downloads\/","title":{"rendered":"Symantec endpoint Downloads"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>NOTE<\/h3>\n<p><strong>The contract for University-provided antivirus software, Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) expires on March 21, 2018.<\/strong>\u00a0 <strong>Please see <a href=\"\/wp_e\/service\/software-license\/trendm\/\">this page<\/a> for the alternative software, Trendmicro Virus Buster (VB).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For uninstallation of SEP, please consult <a href=\"#UNINSTALL\">the Uninstall section<\/a> of this page.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(The rest of this page is outdated and kept only for record.)<\/p>\n<p><big>The user needs to have <a href=\"\/wp_e\/service\/unified-authentication-system\/#utid-13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UTID-13<\/a> from the Unified Authentication and a password to download the software.<\/big><\/p>\n<h2>Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) usage note<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>MAC OS X 10.12 (sierra) is supported now (2016.10.05)<br \/>\nIf you are going to upgrade to sierra, please do it after updating SEP to the latest version.<br \/>\nIf you upgrade to sierra while the version of SEP is old, then SEP will not work since it will become an &#8220;incompatible app&#8221;. In this case, you can not install new SEP unless you uninstall old SEP once.<\/li>\n<li>If you are off-campus, please run LiveUpdate manually. (2016.03.01)<br \/>\nLiveUpdate may not work automatically. If the date written in &#8220;Definitions&#8221; section of &#8220;Virus and Spyware Protection&#8221; is old (usually it should be within 2-3 days), please run LiveUpdate manually.<\/li>\n<li>If you are going to upgrade your PC to Windows 10, please check the version of SEP. If it is older than Ver.12.1.6 MP1, you have to uninstall SEP before upgrading to Windows 10. (2016.01.12)<\/li>\n<li>Windows 10 is supported now. (2015.08.07)<\/li>\n<li>SEP may not be able to coexist with other Symantec products (especially consumer products such as Norton).<\/li>\n<li>In case the installation of SEP fails, Symantec offers an uninstall tool of all Symantec products. <u><b>However this uninstall tool is out of the support scope. With regard to failure or unexpected behavior by the use of this tool, we can not respond.<\/b><\/u> If you use this in an important environment, please take system backup beforehand.
