International Academic Roaming Service \u201ceduroam\u201d<\/h3>\n

Eduroam is a worldwide roaming service that provides wireless LAN network access for the international research and education community. By using eduroam, members from participating institutions can connect their computers to local wireless networks when visiting other participating institutions.\u00a0 Please visit eduroam.org<\/a> and\/or eduroam JP<\/a> for detailed information about eduroam.<\/p>\n

For Members of the University of Tsukuba<\/h2>\n

Before visiting other institutions (obtain eduroam ID)<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Go to eduroam JP Federated ID Service<\/a>.
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Select \u201c\u7b51\u6ce2\u5927\u5b66\u201d from the \u201c\u6240\u5c5e\u6a5f\u95a2 list\u201d and click on \u201c\u9078\u629e (Select)\u201d.

  3. The Unified Authentication Login page will appear. Type in your UTID-13 and password and click on \u201cLogin.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Follow the instruction on the page and create your Federated ID and password.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: it is recommended that you try the following step in the University of Tsukuba campus before traveling.<\/em><\/p>\n

    At the institution you are visiting (connect to eduroam)<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

    The following is a standard configuration.\u00a0 It may be different by the visited institutions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    SSID: eduroam
    \nSecurity: WPA2-Enterprise
    \nEncryption method: PEAP
    \nID and password: the Federated ID and password you obtained in the previous step.
    \nServer certificate: You will be asked for confirmation the first time you connect or the server certificate is renewed.\u00a0<\/span> Be sure to check the fingerprint<\/strong> against those shown in     eduroam JP federated ID page<\/a> and accept it if it matches.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
