Guidelines for the use of information systems at University of Tsukuba

The Anti Virus Software, Trend Micro Apex One （Windows version）has been updated.
The latest version is 14.0.9645 (build 9645)

The latest one is distributed from Download station.

To update the latest version, reboot your PC while connected with management server.
It is automatially updated if you leave for a few minutes to boot.
Depending on the circumstances of management server load, update process may take a few days or not be done automatically.

If you wish to update the latest version forcibly, please download from Download station then install it.

We would like to inform you that we will be performing our On-Campus Wi-Fi System maintenance
on Oct. 31(SUN) from 9:00am to 9:30am.
During this period, the following services will be unavailable

・On-Campus Wi-Fi System
・On-Campus Wi-Fi System via 802.1x authentication (trial operation)
・eduroam Wireless LAN
・Guest Wireless LAN

We are sorry for this inconvenient.

Regarding utwlan-x in the SSID of the On-Campus Wi-Fi System, we created utwlan-xa so that we can connect as an alternative method when a problem occurs before.

However now the problem has been solved, so we will stop utwlan-xa around 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021.

If you have been using utwlan-xa, please use utwlan-x after that.

The anti-virus software “Trend Micro Apex One Mac” distributed by the

Academic Computing and Communications Center now supports the Apple M1 chip.

The version that supports the Apple M1 chip is “Agent Version 3.5.5371”.

You can download and install it from the download station.

Using the Microsoft EES of our Univ., you may have uploaded files to Teams/OneDrive, carelessly setting them sharable to all the Univ. members.
Otherwise you await, we recommend to share them only to your private groups.

Trend Micro Apex One.(TMAO) is compatible with Windows 10 May 2021 Update (21H1)　in ver.14.0.9565 or later

About client software version of Trend Micro AntiVirus software (Win/Mac)

The new version of Trend Micro Antivirus Software (Trend Micro Apex One) has been in service from January 18, 2021.

Please upgrade to the latest version by June 30, 2021.

ACCC will not support earlier versions (Virus Buster and Security for Mac) after July 1, 2021, even if vulnerability issues are found.

If you continue to use the earlier version, it will make a security problem.

When you replace Antivirus Software from Virus Buster (Security for Mac), be sure to uninstall the current version, restart your PC, and then install the Trend Micro Apex One.

Please note that Trend Micro Antivirus Software does not support MacOS on M1 chip as of May 12, 2021.

The update work has been postponed, and there will be no shutdown of Campus Wi-Fi  on July 4.
We will announce the postponed schedule on this web page as soon as it is decided.

The campus Wi-Fi control unit will be updated during the following period.
Please note that the On-Campus Wi-Fi System will be suspended during the update works.

Date:Sunday, July 4, 2021, 9:00 –17:00.

Impact:Shutdown of the On-Campus Wi-Fi System
The following two changes may occur as a result of the update.
・Authentication method for connecting to Wi-Fi
・Passphrase to connect to SSID “utwlan-w”
