Request for renewal of the license of Trend Micro Antivirus Software

The contract for Trend Micro Antivirus Software contracted at the Academic Computing and Communications Center has been renewed.

You need to renew your license on the installed PC or mobile device (smartphone, etc.).

Eligible product:

 Trend Micro Apex One (TMAO)

 Trend Micro Virus Buster (TMVB)

 Trend Micro Security for Mac (TMSM)

 Trend Micro Mobile Security (TMMS)

License renewal method:

For PC: Windows and Mac (TMAO TMVB TMSM Installation PC)

Reboot your PC while connected to the campus network (VPN connection is also acceptable) and execute the update manually.

For Android and iOS device: (TMMS Installation device)

Refer to the QR code for license settings from the following website.

Use UT-ID 13 digits and password.

    For Android

    For iOS

Display the QR code on another device, such as a PC, and scan it with the Mobile Security application.

Note:

Trend Micro Antivirus Software that the University of Tsukuba has a license for is available only for members of the university.

Members who use the software on a personally-owned computer need to uninstall it promptly when leaving the university due to graduation, completion of studies, or retirement.

(Fixed) On the case meeting recording data stored to “OneDrive for Business” within (EES) Microsoft Teams

As of Feb. 17, the scheduled maintenance is finished. Other details in the following are unchanged.

The entitled event informed is known to happen, to target users who self-signed up before Mar. 2017, and recorded meeting within (EES) Microsoft Teams during Jan. 26~Feb. 18(Wed.).

The system is arranged to fix the failure on Feb. 17(Tue.), am9:00~am12:00.
Amid the operation, MS office 365 and MS Teams serve as usual.

the data stored in OneDrive for Business or Share Point may be accessed by other users.

When recording meeting within Microsoft Teams, the video may be stored to OneDrive for Bussiness,instead of Stream as usual. The reason is under investigating but you can restrict the access of your video by the following way:

  1.  Right-click the video uploaded to Teams
  2.  Select “open Share Point”
  3. Download the video on Share Point to your local PC
  4. Delete the video on Share Point (so it will not be accessed by other users)
  5. Upload the video to Stream, and assign the access permission to the users/groups you like.

(Fixed) On trouble in getting team-code within Microsoft Teams (of EES)

We are informed by Microsoft that the failure of getting team-code within MS Teams and “Users will be unable to create Join a Team codes, or join a team using the Join by Code feature” has been fixed. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Teams (of EES), it fails by “cannot access to the server, please try again”.

You cannot join a team by “join using code” either.

Request for an update of Trend Micro Antivirus software (02/04 update)

The latest version of Trend Micro Antivirus software “Trend Micro Apex One” distributed at the Academic Computing and Communications Center has been released.

The Mac version is also available as “Trend Micro Apex One (Mac)”.

Windows version and Mac version are available at the Download Station.

Please note that the previous version of the management server is scheduled to be shut down.

【Notes on reinstallation】

The manufacturer support for the old version of Virus Buster Corp. XG will be discontinued on January 31, 2022, and the server of the Academic Computing and Communications Center will be shut down around this date.

When you replace Antivirus software from Virus Buster Corp XG, be sure to uninstall the current version, restart your PC and then install the latest version.

Installation must be performed while connected to the campus LAN or VPN service.

ACCC received this information and fixed this problem on December 3rd.

 

If your PC (installed Virus Buster) encounter this phenomenon, please apply following solution.

Reboot your PC with a connection to the campus network (including VPN connection) and leave it running for about 2-30 minutes.

 

Once the settings are loaded from the ACCC management server, edge and chrome will be launched.

【Warning】Beware of phishing mails (2020/12/21)

We are receiving numerous reports on phishing mails disguised as an internal warning notice as shown below.
These are attempts to gain access to the accounts of the Unified Authentication System and other systems.
DO NOT click the URL links in the phishing mails.
If you have clicked the link and have input your ID and password, renew the password immediately.
The password of the Unified Authentication System can be changed from the page of the Zengaku Computer System.
Follow the menu “Log-in, Password” -> “Changing resetting your password” As for passwords of other systems, please follow instructions by the respective administrators.

In principle, you don’t have to do anything.

Make sure your version is up to date by way of precaution.

Depending on the circumstances of the network, management server, PC and etc., upgrade process may not be done automatically.

In that case, please reinstall Antivirus software by yourself.

(b)In case your PC is not connected to On-Campus network

(b-1) Connect to Campus network using VPN and update to the latest version.

Depending on the circumstances of the network, management server, PC and etc., upgrade process may not be done automatically.

In that case, please reinstall Antivirus software by yourself.

(b-2) Installation must be performed while connected to the campus LAN or VPN service.
